No, from the outside they are identical. I think that most of these engines were fitted to Vespa GS200s, i have a GS200 that has absolutely nothing wrong mechanically but is much slower than other 200s. It is the model with the reflectors and other plastic cr*p all over the outside.

Friends with the GS200s with metallic red or blue paint seem to have very fast engines in them.

I haven't measured the port timings on my cylinder but this is were the difference is. I think that the exhaust port on a 12pk engine is 2mm higher thus allowing the engine to rev longer.

Scooterboy posted the blue prints last time this came up.

My scooter has a top speed of 100kpu instead of 110 from a 12pk.

I wouldn't let the fact that a cheap 200 was a 10pk model put me off buying one, you just put a kit or an older cylinder on it and its de-restricted.
